In Arizona, to become an eyelash technician, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Arizona-licensed aestheticians and cosmetologists do not have to register as an eyelash technician. Licensed aestheticians and cosmetologists can perform eyelash extensions.

  • If you are not licensed as a cosmetologist or aesthetician and are currently doing eyelash extensions:

  • A copy of the provisional registration (proof of completion) required under A.R.S. § 32-519(A)(3) verifying the successful completion of a Board-approved eyelash technician training program. (A provisional registration is a Certificate of graduation).

  • If you took a course between October 31, 2023, and May 3, 2024, that course will not count. You will need to take a course from a board-approved training program.

Documents/Items Needed for the Application:

  • Provisional registration certificate you received upon completion of your training- This will come from Arizona Eyelash Academy and we will submit the application together!
